philw
Morning all (unless of course you're reading this at an alternative time of day or night...) I'm thinking of downsizing from my Mark Bass CMD 121H to something smaller and lighter and was wondering about the Ibanez Promethean P3110. I've not tried a Promethean but I've seen a few and they look pretty cool. Folk always seem to speak well of them too. So does anybody here have any direct experience they can share? Al Krow
The Promethean is a good little combo and amazing value for the money, lightweight and portable. It's not going to stack up against a Markbass combo, however, and nor should you expect it to given the price differential. If you're looking to downsize, and are used to Markbass quality then I'd recommend replacing the 121H with a 121P.
wateroftyne
I have no experience with the P3110, but the original P5110 was incredible - higher output, removable head. If you can find one of those around, snap it up.
naxos10
I have the P3110 which I use as a practice amp and on open mike nights. It is great, flexible tone controls, switchable tweeter, aux in and headphone out an can be used with an extension cab. Lightweight to boot.
