Well, I would never have guessed you would have crashed before me 😂

Love the justification of space issues. Enjoy your new kit and rock on bro 👊

Haha! No, it's all for real. I feel like I've crossed over to the dark side going digital... 😈

As for bass purchases, I'm still going strong thank heavens. 👍

First gas attack of the year for me, and I’m only 3 months in. I keep wanting to buy a shortie, either a USA Mustang or a Marusczyk jazz. Buying new house / making house liveable / buying new car has kept gas at bay until now, but finances are returning to normal and gas is creeping back in.. Must resist.

Spent a fortune on the deposit for the house, then 10k on new windows, 8k on a new bathroom, 5k on loft repairs, thousands on the car, thousands on built-in wardrobes, paid a giant tax bill etc etc, bank account takes giant hammering, yes that’s all fine, shrug it off, nothing to worry about. Want a £900 bass, nope, guilt trip sets in immediately. Love it.

That's 3 months under my belt, but it's starting to look very dodgy for April (once you start looking, buying doesn't tend to be far behind).

I’ve got 6 months under my belt for no bass purchases - which I going against the grain. Shame we can’t have a partial membership as I’m keen to keep that one going!

Forgive me Basschat, for I am (very probably) about to sin...

So, in 30 years of bass playing, I've only ever bought 2 new basses and 1 second hand. I've always considered myself to be immune to GAS and the only bass related things I've bought in the last 10 years have been strings and batteries.

And yet I now find myself utterly consumed by a particular new bass. Utterly.

- It's a five string, when I've only ever played fours...

- It's an 'exotic' top, when I've only ever had single colour finishes...

- It's the price of a 2nd hand small car...

Why do I feel like this?

Oh, and I'm going to try it out next week. I'm doomed, aren't I?

I have sinnned sinned and sinned again this year:

In:
Mesa Big Block 750
Mesa Rectoverb 1x12 guitar combo
Darkglass Alpha Omega

Out:
Mesa M6
EBS Billy Sheehan Drive pedal
Catalinbread Sabracadabra pedal
Trace Elliot 1x15 Bass Cab
Fender American Special Toronado guitar

On the positive side it is technically more out than in and my net spend has only been about £300. I am also down to one guitar now, but now at least I actually own a guitar amp!

April and counting. No GAS yet... and I’m glad.

Same for me.  Although it will be interesting to see what happens when the Barefaced Bass Amp is released 😉

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted (details to follow in an NBD). To be fair, it's been a good while since I bought any bass hardware at all. Good luck to those still standing.

I’m out too 😬. Just paid the deposit on a Limelight build.

Who is still left in this?

It was only a matter of time........ welcome to the lack of will power club, made up of 98.9787654976312% of BC’ers. 😂

I’m still sore that my exit was necessity and not GAS 😤

I haven’t got a P bass anymore so in my head the game is still on to not buy one this year...

Si

Yep, your days are numbered 😉

I’m still in, have done lots of window shopping for nothing in particular. But I do have three basses being built all of which were commissioned last year so I don’t really need any excuses to buy anything as they’ll start appearing at various points in the next few months...

Ooh, sneaky. Surely you ‘need’ a new pedal or amp 😉.
