I’m now (as of today) seeing google ads on safari on my iPhone - at the top of the page, but rather irritatingly right in the middle of some peoples posts. Even when closed the box remains and I can’t actually read the posted content.

As it stands, it’s actually now impossible for me to view the forum on my iPhone as the content is obscured in random locations.

Was turning the ads on a conscious move by the team? If it was then it’s ruined the experience on iPhone for me and rendered it unusable.

Getting the same ads on Android but they're not obscuring anything... Just peppered about the threads in unexpected places. Distracting...

Sounds like all mobile platforms then - on longer threads I’d say 1 in 5 posts is obscured to the point that I can’t read them at all...

Just started a similar post on the other site reporting thread. Mines on my PC.

So all platforms then. Crikey.

With the ads appearing in posts and obscuring text it pretty much renders the site unreadable for me.

Yes. Sorry,  I should have quoted Mudpup and Phil T. They also have a Mac.

Sorry our fault, we were waiting for Google to update something and I had an email from them this morning - I didn't realise by default they give you 'auto ads' all over the bloody place. We're configuring them to be as they were before at the moment.

I like 'em.

I've already bagged myself a new boiler, a chainsaw, an old bike from a Police auction and a hot Polish date!

What's not to like?

🤣😂

Phew! I thought I was going to have to buy new lingerie, send money to Somalia, buy viagra, a new travel iron and subscribe to a wine distribution service just to read what @Al Krow had written about the Helix Stomp.

(just to clarify, I still think it would have been worth it...)

They are BIG too. The home page earlier was one giant ad on my phone. I had to scroll down to see the forum headings

Edit: I think the word is "intrusive" to understate

They are targeted ads - they know we are all impressed by big size and volume but little actual content 🤣

It does sound like the 'middle aisle of mystery' doesn't it.
