Do you ever have days where you pick up your instrument and everything that comes out just sounds like a big fart?

I had to put down the bass and ended just sat on the sofa drinking cider insteadÂ đŸ€”

That was the general sound I got from my B3K whenever I turned it on :(

Not sure I can blame my kit today!

Only days with a 'Y' in them...

'Y' does that happen?

Yarp, some days I can't play for poo-poo. It only happens occasionally though just like when I really rip it up & play like a beast, that only happens occasionally too

Back when I was a teen I saw the Flea DVD, he said that on some days he has a ‘head like a stale marshmallow’. Since then, I don’t feel bad when it happens.

Oh yes!  Best to walk away and do something else on those occasions.  I’ve had it last months when I’ve just lost my mojo. Worst case was about five years when I thought I’d never play again.  I think it’s just a mood thing or a point in life when the energy isn’t there or one’s headspace is wrong.  It comes and goes.  Talking helps.  My fathers advice was to “embrace it, go do something else, it’ll come back”...it did, big time!

Yup! Sadly even on my final music college exam.

Now I got top marks, mind, but after that experience, I sold my accordion...

Yep, we`re now in process of writing our next album and some days when I sit down to try and get some ideas going I simply have to put the bass down as nothing seems to go right.

Yep.

There are days when I pick up my bass and I'm on fire. I can play anything with ease and it sounds massive and tight. Other days.... my fingers don't follow the logic of my brain and on top of that the same bass in the same room with the same amp and settings sounds terrible.

Yep, this morning was hard work. Trying to get my plectrum playing more consistent and today I just SUCKED. I know I suck quite a lot anyway but today was really bad 😳
