la bam
Pretty much as the title - im looking for a compressor in rack form for my rig. Just a simple string balancer - no real sound change/squeeze. There just seems a massive hole in the market for bass rack stuff. Itd be used for my rig which would be: VTRM preamp - qsc poweramp. thanks.
Acebassmusic
You can use PA / studio gear via the effects loop on the VTRM with the 100% mix engaged. DBX, Drawmer, TC etc all do rack compressors. Some are better for bass than others...check out the many compressors on Ovnilab. I use a TC G-Major multi effects with built in compressor rack unit....works for me Edited October 11, 2018 by Acebassmusic
WinterMute
dbx 160x overeasy if you can find one at a decent price, as Ace says, sit it on the FX loop. If you're flush, get a Distressor...! http://www.empiricallabs.com/distressor.html Both brilliant bass compressors, live and studio.

51m0n
Focusrite Compounder is a very capable clean compressor limiter that's been in my live rack for years. DBX160 is a classic on bass Then you are looking for magic boxes like a good la2a or 1176 clone. Apparently the Klark Technic ones are pretty good for the cash, warm audio wm76 is the next step up...
