Sweeneythebass
Just wondering what the best settings are for an upright tone? I’m using a fretless with tapewounds, any info is useful indeed!
Beedster
Depends on what bass you’re playing really, and what DB sound you’re after (jazz and bluegrass DB are very different tones). Either way, I think it’s less about EQ and more about playing style. I’ve also found that the tiniest bit of reverb can add to a DB feel. 1

ped
More about varying the playing style imo. Play up nearer the neck, basically. I don’t adjust the EQ or anything else.
mcnach
As Beedster said, it's more to do with playing style... but the right strings also can help. Not all tapewounds are the same. The Rotosound TruBass are the most doublebassy strings out there, I think.
