anzoid Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Just popped up on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bass-guitar/113318860989?hash=item1a625498bd:g:yPoAAOSwcWJbyYol Apparently a Bass Collection... certainly not a real Kubicki Factor... but what the heck is it? It's not a Kubicki Blaster (somewhat legally dubious Far Eastern sort-of licensed copy), and is more Steinberger than Kubicki in terms of tuning... Any ideas? Currently at £80... no doubt will climb higher. Quote
anzoid Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 Just found this on a... ummm... differetn bass forum: "According to pickups (K&M), stringholders, bridge and knobs in my opinion this is a Fixer without logo (the other logo that also appeared on these models was "Bass Collection"). It is a cheaper copy of the ExFactor made in Japan in the last 80's probably by Headway/Deviser, the same Factory that made Riverhead basses in the same years." 1 Quote
anzoid Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 @AndyTravis yeah, kinda want it too, but just bought a Steinberger Spirit, literally today... hot rod yellow XT2 incoming tomorrow... 2 Quote
anzoid Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 A search on "Fake Kubicki" rather than "Kubicki copy" turns up a bunch more stuff... still kinda want it Quote
Happy Jack Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Not being sold by a copywriter, by the look of it. Quote
Bassassin Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I've seen Kubicki copies before, don't think they were branded Bass Collection though - would remember that. It's cool but I have a feeling it's going to get silly-expensive. Quote
prowla Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 That just popped up in my searches - wonder what it'll go for... Quote
fleabag Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Riverhead basses are bluddy good. Grab it Quote
spectoremg Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Looks like our favourite luthier did the bridge pickup rout 😮 1 Quote

Roger2611 Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 I have been looking at this one, it is somewhat unusual, I have never seen a branded Bass Collection bass like it, I doubt it has any SGC Nanyo connections but as Anzoid says I still kinda want it! Quote
anzoid Posted October 21, 2018 Author Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) Looks like there could be some association with Riverhead - https://hiveminer.com/Tags/bass%2Criverhead has gathered some photos - this one in particular looks like the same pups and bridge: Edited October 21, 2018 by anzoid Quote
Bassassin Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Well spotted - definitely the same hardware & pups. Does look like it's probably a Headway product. Quote
anzoid Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 Currently at £170 with 1 day and 16 hours to go... Wonder whether it'll go over £300... Quote
AndyTravis Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 I unwatched when it passed £150...looks lovely, hope someone here wins it. first time I’ve ever seen one. Quote
EMG456 Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Anyone here get this? No spare cash atm but I was sorely tempted. Looks like it could be a really nice bass. Quote
anzoid Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 Not me, no money either. Went for a reasonable price though. Would be great if it was basschatter that got it then we can find out more about it Quote
floFC Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 (edited) No winning bid for me either. Same for the Hohner B2A they were also selling. Edited October 26, 2018 by floFC Hohner update. Quote
spectoremg Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 It went for £190. Bl00dy awkward time for an ending. Quote
