Bilbo Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 I have seen this somewhere but can't find it. Quote

MacDaddy Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 This was suggested last night at rehearsal, so we jammed it and it didn't sound too bad. Got the dots and song so gonna attempt to learn it ''properly'. Even so, still reckon there will be an element of improv. Norm eh? He's a bit good... Quote
Reggaebass Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Fantastic Bassline, I’ve tried this myself, but I was working on a few other things at the time so I didn’t give it my full attention, it’s certainly challenging, especially up to speed 🙂 Quote
wal4string Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 Struggled to find a descent transcription of this for years until I discovered the attached PDF. To my ears the second bar is not only spot on but also falls logically under the fingers. 1. Ian+Dury+Hit+Me+With+Your+Rhythm+Stick.pdf 1 1 Quote
MacDaddy Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 This week I started learning it in earnest. Got the notes, now building up the tempo. FWIW I used to play in a metal band, incorporating elements of shred into my playing and soloing, so speed has never been a problem, but I am finding this a bit challenging. As I said earlier, Norm eh? He's a bit good! 1 Quote
Crusoe Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I remember Bassist magazine did a transcription many moons ago. I nearly tied my fingers in knots trying to play it. Quote
MacDaddy Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 An update on my part... I wouldn't say I've completely nailed it, but I'm 95% of the way there. We've gigged it a couple of times but now it seems to be out of the set, which p1553d me off a bit after the work I put in to learn it. Still it's my 'go to' piece when trying a new bass, or if i'm asked 'play something'. Quote
