alexa3020
Looking to do some recording soon. This is the bass sound I’m after obviusly it’s a p bass in the image on the vid. Do you think it’s a p bass on the recording? oh and slap bass and Radiohead - who knew! cheers
Lozz196
From the isolated track, especially on the slap bass I’d say yes, in all likelihood a P-bass. Not sure if the distortion/gain is pedal or valves being pushed but s nice sound in the mix.
ahpook
I'd diasgree I'm afraid, I'd say it's the Musicman Sterling he was using around the time of 'The Bends' - the recorded tone sounds like it to my ears and you can just see him playing it in the live vid if you're fast on the pause button. alexa3020
Yeah, I did notice the mm in the video. I thought it might have a bit more growl to it if it was a mm. great sound though!
Ben Jamin
I'm pretty certain that Iron Lung is a live recording with overdubbed vocals - so probably the MusicMan in the live music video Sounds very much like a MM should sound IMO - at least something with a bridge pick-up, being plucked near the bridge! The low-end and saturation will be from whatever pre-amp / compressor is used. It's pretty squished. Chiliwailer
I agree with above, sounds like a MM to me, probably the Sterling in the Series position - loved that position when I had a Sterling years back.
