Not that many Basschatter's move any of their instruments on that often 🙄, but on the rare occasion a new For Sale thread appears, the question of weight rears it's ugly head with alarming regularity.

I have just purchased this for £7.59 through Amazon (along with at least £12.41 worth of other assorted ephemera in order to qualify for free shipping :)) and it is rather spiffing - and accurate.

It does ounces, grams, pounds and kilos and has a nice soft noose for hanging a bass from the headstock. Just thought I would share.

Here is the product link.

I use my kitchen scales!

Very accurate and go up to 5kg

That would be a MASSIVE cake!! :D

Ours max out at a little less than that. On the odd occasion I've been caught in the act by Mrs.H weighing something for eBay, £7.59 became an acceptable alternative.

Bought! Thanks for that! No more weigh me with/without shenanigans!

Ha ha. Yes, I bet there are a few of us that have done the little hop on/hop off the scales dance. 'Tis now a thing of the past. This beauty weighs up to 50kg.

Good idea - I just found how how inaccurate my bathroom scales were - kitchen scales much better but not as easy to use with a bass!

My bathroom scales are the opposite to the kitchen ones. They won't register a single ounce unless the weight is 11 pounds or more. Not much use for basses. Not the ones I like anyway. I think I used them once when I sold my Alembic 😂

So you'll be popping round to your Mum's to recommend a purchase and test the puppy on the new purchase???

Great idea for you but no good to me...I don't live anywhere near your parents.

JOOI how is the little one?? :useless:

Even better if it was a gay cake.

I went for this bad boy, because i'm worth it.  It can weigh a Great Dane without breaking a sweat.  150kg at the top end....

OK, how much for the Great Dane then Fleabag? ;)

I use an old spring balance that my late F-I-L used for weighing milk churns. It’s probably at least 100 years old but it works well. Not metric, of course.

55 notes, Marc.  Pricey but very accurate and useful if you sell a fair bit.

True story...

Local dog walkers had two Great Danes...one died.

Replaced it with a Teacup Chihuahua who now runs the house...and they say "size matters"

She's beautiful. Very intelligent and just the right amount of naughty. Here she is with her fave 'big ted'

I have something similar.  My main issue with the bathroom scales method was the constant reminders of how much I weigh.
