Stephen Houghton
Can anyone tell me what the string height should be on a EUB at the 12th frett, I am new to this and think mine needs a decent setup. Thanks in advance for any advice! Cheers
stingrayPete1977
I'm not sure really, it's easy enough to wind the bridge up and down to play around with it, higher action gives a more dB like thump especially with foam behind the bridge which is the best mod you can do anyway, too low then it starts too feel and sound more like a fretless electric, have a play around, you won't hurt it.
tinyd
For upright basses, the string height is usually measured at the end of the fingerboard - it varies a lot, but typical values are around 10mm for the E string down to maybe 6-7mm for the G string.
