in case that English flag was there because of my Scottish location... as much as I love Scotland, the coffee situation is the same (but improving rapidly too ;) ). I am Spanish and got hooked on coffee in Portugal, where every little tiny cafe/bar had delicious coffee, and I just needed to ask for a coffee.

It’s back home. Been a long journey.

I’ve opened the case and had a look so far - that’s about it. It’s as good as it was before if not a lot better - you just can’t tell it’s been sick and at the hospital.

So... Basschat world. Do I keep it or move it on??

Keeping it is edging it at the moment. I need to play it tonight to see how I feel about it.

It’s been so long I’ve forgotten what it’s like :D

After the journey you've had with it so far, you've got to keep it for a while at least.

I’ve basically not had it for the last year so in some ways I already know what it’s like without it well enough :D

There are different brands of deep fried pig skin bits? 😲

I say keep it. Its got some history now, but the work done to make it better than it was, your patience in waiting all this time, and the fact that its one unique looking bass,  i would treasure it.

You need to summon up the strength to adjust the truss rod again before it's 'home' to stay.

I’m going to give that one a miss. Even 2” high action would be preferable...

Difficult decision with such a gorgeous bass.

Not sure which way i'd go to be honest. Send it up here for a year and i'll give you my honest opinion.

Absolutely stunning bass tho.

For everyone drooling, it's even more beautiful in the, erm, wood, so to speak. A work of art that is also a musical instrument.

To the OP, keep it and play it: only you will know if it's a keeper after that.

Yeah. I take all the points raised.

It’s a stunning instrument. It plays beautifully. It sounds immense - the piezo bridge being part of the fretboard gives it a deep tonality which is so rich - it’s not just deep and boomy, it’s very full and very rounded with some impressive overtones. Blend in the pickup under the board and it gains a midrange honk as well.

And that should be enough to keep it, right?

It probably is. But the fact that I’m asking the question worries me.

I'll be the devil's advocate, if you've doubts and certainly fears about it, sell it.

To me it's also a work of art, a masterpiece and an instrument that needs to be played.

How much did you pay for the repair, if you'd like to share, of course ?

I’ve not had the bill yet....
