"Original Countour Body transfer - that's a Jazz bass feature isn't it? Headstock slightly wrong shape? String tree wrong? One piece scratch plate? Edited December 1, 2008 by OldGit Quote
Musky Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 With £35 shipping that would have to sell at 99p to be considered a bargain. Quote
thebeat Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) Hmmm...dunno, the neck at the body end does have the serial number in the right place for a MIJ...'FENDER PRECISION BASS ORIGINAL CONTOUR BODY - BARGAIN' is what he says...he doesn't actually say it's a jazz...benefit of the doubt and all that i'd say that he mentions the contour body to differentiate it from a slab body P? I'll stick me neck out here and say genuine. 96/97 mij according to the serial number. Edited November 30, 2008 by thebeat Quote

budget bassist Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 The headstock shape just doesn't look right to me... Quote
skankdelvar Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Logo a bit on the small side. And the whole thing exudes a hint of crap-ness...NOI Quote
josh3184 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I'm surprised no pillock has wildly bidded because of the name yet... Quote
Musky Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 And I've never seen a sunburst Fender with the forearm and rear cutaways sprayed in black like that. Cheapo plywood planks turn up painted like that all the time though... Quote

Annoying Twit Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 If anyone's 100% sure that this isn't a Fender, then please contact the seller. Quote
Sean Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 The grain of the headstock is all wrong for a Fender too. Quote
budget bassist Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I just noticed the front contour totally sprayed black too. I'm pretty sure it's plywood with a paint job like that. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Current bid £4.61. Has no-one contacted the seller yet? He said that if anyone knew for sure that it is not genuine, he'd amend his listing. Quote
