Fionn Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 (edited) Folks ... What size of bubblewrap roll to buy, assuming I want to pack a bass (in a gigbag) inside a standard bass box? (think of the bubblewrap as being rolled up into tightish balls). Would this do it? (50cm X 100m) ... https://www.amazon.co.uk/500mm-Quality-Bubble-Small-Bubbles/dp/B07BRCSVLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1541260938&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=bubble+wrap+large+bubbles+100m&dpPl=1&dpID=31MYWEfpP8L&ref=plSrch Ta’ Edited November 3, 2018 by Fionn Quote
fleabag Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Most couriers require a hard case. It's one of their get out clauses. Also , check each couriers small print. Some of them only insure guitars up to a pathetic amount Quote
Baxlin Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I’ve always taped/tied a full length piece of 2x1 timber to any that I’ve 'posted', as an extra precaution, either inside or outside the gig bag. Quote
ribbetingfrog Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 I always get my bubble wrap from a supermarket, from the fruit and veg! they are always happy for you help yourself as it saves them binning it. Apples are the best, they have loads on. Quote
chris_b Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 I put polystyrene sheets between the case and the cardboard box when I'm risking entrusting my bass to a courier company. Quote
