Anyone know anything about it? Quote
jrixn1 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I found a previous thread where I said: "I had one for a while. They are not expensive. I really liked the acoustic sound - but you couldn't use that live. The sound through the pick-up was... ok, not bad by any means, but it didn't blow me away." https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/293304-aria-feb-flf-fretless-acoustic-nbd/ https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/318275-aria-feb-any-thoughts/ Quote
Quilly Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 Cheers, I have a Fender acoustic CB-100 and it looks like the Aria suffering from the same giantism syndrome as my fender. I don't think 34" necks suit these instruments. I have long arms and big hands I I still find the first fret a bit of a stretch, plus my fender is very neck heavy. I think I'll be selling mine. I've had a few acoustic basses and I was never happy with them. Quote
Fionn Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Check out the Warwick (RB) Alien. Those have a 32” scale. Quote

Presumably it would be a bit too quiet, particularly if played fingerstyle with nylon strings on. Quote
Happy Jack Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 No acoustic bass that I have ever played (and that's a reasonable number & selection) has ever been capable of being heard properly against even a single 6-string. Against two guitars rather than one you're wasting your time, unless both guitarists are prepared to strum very gently. If you need something to play acoustically in live situations and you'd prefer not to (i) amplify or (ii) buy a DB, then I suggest a Guitarrón mexicano. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitarrón_mexicano 1 1 Quote

Thanks for the useful info. Looks like I’ll have to stick with a practice amp - no room at home for a DB, even if I fancied one, unfortunately. Quote

I have a markbass 801 and sounds massive Quote
knirirr Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Thanks. I’ve got a Jazz and was planning to use a Fender Rumble 15, but might try a different amp if that proves insufficient. Quote
