JapanAxe Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) I have just stumbled upon this video, in which the bass player is plugged into a Cornell bass head. A quick Google led me to Cornell's own website, wherein the Rambler Bass amp range is described as 'coming soon'; and to this 'pessimistically-rated' 50W prototype for sale at Nottingham City Guitars, who say that 70W and 100W versions will also be available to order: Having just bought an Ampeg PF-50T, I am sorted for 50W valve bass heads, but does anyone know any more about these? Some of Dennis Cornell's amps are openly derived from Marshall Plexi-type designs, and this one certainly has a bit of a Plexi look to it... Edited November 6, 2018 by JapanAxe Quote
krispn Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I don’t doubt the quality but I think the 50w ampeg may well be much less expensive...even at full price. Quote
discreet Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Loving the look! But of course we don't buy with our eyes on this forum, do we? 1 Quote
songofthewind Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 No we don’t! That would be wrong, and who would do such a thing?? Quote
Pea Turgh Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 The angled sides make me think of Bugera though. It would, er, sound better if it was flat fronted. Quote
BigRedX Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 The cab with that 50W prototype is an open backed design which is not very good for getting a decent bass tone at anything approaching a decent volume. Quote
ianrendall Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Who remembers the video game Bioshock? This amp wouldn’t look out of place in Rapture. 1 Quote

Bridgehouse Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Ugh. Me no likey the look of that at all. Quote
Japhet Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Looks lovely. I'd probably need a smoking jacket, slippers and a pipe to go with it though. 2 Quote
