Ibanez DM1100 Digital Delay

I have had this DM1100 delay unit for a while now, It's from the 80s and sounds really nice as it has the old chips made by Maxon inside it. I have been trying to figure out how to use the hold button on it as it can be used for loops, does anyone know how to work this? Any help would be much appreciated.
