Ashdown RM500 EVO 2 £399 at Andertons

So I pulled the trigger.

I am about to leave my pub band and it only leaves me to do Police gigs which won't be very many but

I just fancied this new Ashdown as a change from my Ampeg PF-500

Hopefully I'll love it

I've used that head and combo numerous times. Seems to be a staple of many practice spaces. While I'm hardly the world's number one Ashdown fan, (give me Trace/Ampeg/Tech21 any day), that one? Absolutely loved it. Very tasty overdrive for when you want some dirt, and a nice useable compressor.

Pretty sure there are some extra goodies from Ashdown if you email in your receipt if bought within  23-26th November period. Free headphones, in-ears etc.

A couple of places have them around that price today - imo it’s a steal, the Rootmaster range is one of the hidden gems in the amp world, though getting a bit more well known recently.

it arrives on Monday but I don't have a gig till dec 14th.

my ampeg isn't exactly heavy but I'm looking forward to even less weight

I still haven't received my amp but the courier didn't have all the address it needed and then I was away. (it should be waiting for me today)

But I found out Ashdown had their own black Friday event and it was a free gift if you bought either one thing or another.

Turns out I qualified for a free set of their Bluetooth in ear meters buds, worth about 90 quid

I would do a New Amp day thread but unfortunately it is faulty and being returned for a new one.

Let me know what you make of the headphones. I have a pair of wired M-Ears and was wholly underwhelmed at first. All the ear bud sizes supplied were useless -they kept falling out and to top it off the sound was terribly thin and lacked any bass. So I bought some nice memory foam ear buds and lo and behold they sound quite marvellous now. And don’t fall out

I havent tried them yet. but I will and will let you know
