Back when I used to write tunes in a band we occasionally supported a Southampton band called Toupe.

Grant Sharkey and another on basses (can't remember the other guy's name, Karl I think) + a drummer. A little bit like Primus, a little like Zappa and great fun to watch.

I can remember supporting them at the Joiners and a musician mate came to see us, he was amazed a band consisted entirely of rhythm section 😱.

Killing Joke's bass player "youth" aka Martin Glover, briefly formed a band called "Brilliant". They appeared on TOTP with 2 bass players back in 1982, I think
Also, I have seen a couple of bands with both a DB player and bass guitar (not often, and I can't recall who - but I have seen it)

Later on at a hastily called band meeting at the local play-park and after an awkward 15 minutes going on the swings and down the slide workout saying anything I eventually told him he was out of the band.

This is how all band sackings should be done!

Evil Blizzard have 3 bass players I believe, don't look them up though as they might give you nightmares 😃

Evil Blizzard actually go 1 better than that, with 4 bass players.

Great band.

But one of them isn't actually playing her bass most of the time.

All those musicians on stage and they still have to have the synth part (which is the main non-vocal tune IMO) on the backing track!

One of my favourite bands:  Girls Against Boys:

I also saw John Paul Jones on his Zooma tour with has Nick Beggs in the band, albeit that they didn't play bass at the same time, with Beggs mostly on Chapman stick and I think switching to bass when JPJ played keyboards

Nobody mentioned SMV ? 3 bass players named Stanley CLARKE, Marcus MILLER and Victor WOOTEN, here live :

And certainly not my project called Mildje with 3 basses (1 fretless soloing, 1 destorted rhythm bass, 1 grooving the same patern in 4,5/4) and 1 drummer, only 1 track called Stuyvenbergh during 45 minutes and played live only once for a jazz event... Arythmical and deconstruted piece of music that took 6 months of rehearsal to be in ... place. Great memories there.

Great band.

I'm pretty sure the lead singer is/was a member on here.
