Madness Absolutely

Been revisiting this album from my early teens. I loved Mark Bedfords bass playing on this and  its predecessor, One Step Beyond.

But 38 years later, the amount of treble and fret noise has rattled my cage in my old age.

Sounds like flats with the top cranked up.

I would probably mixed it with  more low end.

Still, A great album. 👍

Bedders has a great style, and usually pretty high in the mix. When we played The 100 Club Madness had been there the night before and their names were on the coat hangers - I simply had to hang my Harrington on Bedders’ coat hanger!

Love Madness and was ‘mad’ on them when I was a kid. I’m pretty sure those high in the mix basslines were partly responsible for planting the love of bass in my head.

Me too! Entwistle was responsible for my love of flash and technique, but Bedders and John Deacon planted the seed, without me realising it at the time.
