walshy Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 (edited) For sale my Music Man Stingray with Status graphite neck! Killer slap funk machine this one! 3 band Bartolini preamp and Nordstrand pick up. Refinished body date stamped 1990. Small scrape on body. Selling as I’ve bought my 1980 pre EB back from Mark! Weight a shade under 4kg and balances well too. Sale only, no trades 👍 Edited November 30, 2018 by walshy 2
Adethefade Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Just to say that I put a Status neck on my black Stingray HSS a while back; the.neck cost around £400. During the first sound check I hit the low E, and seriously, I looked around to see who had made that ridiculous noise. A Stingray with a Status neck is an absolute animal, so £900 is a steal. 1

Yeah man, the sound is killer! Nice rounded sound and plenty of zing too.

Sorry to hijack the thread but did changing the neck really make that much difference? 1

Adethefade Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Changing the neck did indeed make a difference...and it was no shrinking violet before! The Status neck turned it into a something resembling a piano with an aggression problem!
three Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 As a Status player since ‘86, I can confirm that a big slap of graphite makes a dramatic difference (and no dead spots)
