Staggering on Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 (edited) In case anyone is playing this song over the Christmas season you should know it has been banned from a number of radio stations and networks in the USA and even here in Canada where the CBC(public broadcaster) will not be playing it. It has been deemed to be offensive to some people and does not fit well with the Me Too movement. We will continue to play it in our band and it always goes over well and we often get requests for it. Bah humbug! Edited December 5, 2018 by Staggering on
Baxlin Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Is this another case of PC gone mad? One complaint and the rest of humanity, sorry, hupersonity, has to suffer? Apparently the reason for this is that it’s considered to portray entrapment of women for sexual purposes. The thought that she might be very keen, but just playing hard to get, seems to have been lost in the translation, along with the fact it’s a very good song!
Bolo Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Obviously not just one single complaint. Time moves on I guess.
NancyJohnson Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 There's a loooong thread elsewhere about this!
