RIP Pete. Great band. Amazing pure pop songs. Saw them for the first time in 1978 and they made me want to start a band. Those first three albums and that run of UA singles are perfection.

 When I asked him for gigging advice I was told "drink champagne instead of beer before the show so you don't feel bloated" Will raise a glass to that.

As a kid The Buzzcocks meant much more to be than the Pistols and The Clash. and PS was underrated as a solo artist esp his Homosapien album. RIP Pete Shelley

Gutted, one of the true founders of the Manchester punk scene, we saw them in Leeds earlier this year, I never thought it would be the last time I would see them......RIP Pete

RIP Pete.

I was thrilled to see them back in '93, not too long after they'd relaunched. They'd released a new album at the time as well, and it was great to see them on the up again. Less than a year later, they were out with Nirvana!

Place was tiny, so we were right up close. Awesome gig.

He had such a way with melody and delivery. Those records are timeless. I really like the later stuff he wrote at the end of their first incarnation - stuff like 'Strange Thing' - really underrated.
