Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0

Just pulled the trigger on one for £250. Anybody using one at the moment? What's your opinion?

I simply bought it as a backup to my SVT3 which, in it's massive flight case weights a ton.

Shuttle 3 is great, so is the 6 👍. Simple enough 😄

I've got a 3.0, a 6.0 and a 9.2 Shuttlemax. 

All been brilliant, very clean, basically a single channel pa amp but with a little valve preamp to dirty things up a little.

6.0 user here. Use it on all my gigs. It's a very neutral sounding thing. No complaints.

Thanks for the replies chaps. Am I right in thinking that the amp can be used with headphones and without the use of a cab as it doesn't need a speaker load to run?

yep same goes for all class D amps. one nice feature of shuttles I recall is the internal hi pass filter is quite strong which prevents sub-baddy boomy sounds hitting the speaker too hard and is very helpful for upright bass especially

That high-pass filter is a pretty useful feature. Can't wait to test this amp out.

I've used all my shuttles as di boxes over the years, pre and post EQ for various situations.

Just recently joined the the shuttlemax club with a 9.2 and loving it.  There's a lot of knobs around  ( no offence ) which some may see as too many, if you want old school, but i like miniscule control over the EQ, with the added bonus of dual preamp channels for 2 distinct sounds at the kick of a button.

That’s a good price you have s lot of amp for your money. I brought one new in 2012/3 great amp love mine. Only regret is not going the extra mile and getting the 900w version for the extra head room. But it’s good clean sounding amp, easy to used all good 👍

I use a 6.0 absolutely love it! The EQ is very powerful so s little adjustments go a long way.

Used it for the first time last night along with my Ampeg 4x10 for a rehearsal. Wow ... what an amp. For it's size, the clarity and punch were amazing. It managed to tame the output of my Spector Euro 5LX to the extent that the guitarist even commented at how good it sounded. The fact I'm not lugging around a huge SVT in a heavy flight case just made it sweeter too. Thinking about sellling the SVT and getting a Shuttle MAX

I had a Shuttle 6 & it was great, loved the mids controls.

Sold it to Phil Mann in the end!

Oh yes, plenty of that. Lots of headroom too. There's a lot more clarity with the Shuttle compared to the SVT, almost "hi-fi" like.

My playing actually improved after a while using the 6.0 compared to the ashdown rig it replaced, there's no where to hide!

Yeah, I get what you mean. The quality and clarity is apparent to the point when other band members can hear it. Loving it at the moment.

agreed, both their heads and cabs have a sort of 'dry' quality to them which can be unnerving playing at home, but comes across as great clarity live. incredibly good for upright for that reason.
