Any reason to show my 2nd favourite bass of all time is a good reason!

2002 fretless, new bridge (Gotoh), new pickguard, epoxied fingerboard and Lollar pickups. 1 of the best basses I've ever played.

Loosely....(Very Loosely) based on a 62 Lake Placid.

2004 rosewood neck married to a 2009 LPB body with a 4 ply brown tort pickguard.

All other is standard Mex Fender.

I bought this about 3 years ago because I liked the White and maple ,and I was really surprised how good it felt and played  IMO it’s equally as good as my us jazzes 🙂

My two gorgeous girls. The one on the left is my Fender FSR 70's Precision and the one on the right is my Fender Mike Dirnt Precision. Both are absolutely superb. I simply cant fault them.

LPB MIM Standard. Bought this time last year from Thomann.

This is one of the last Mexican Standards made, before they dropped the range.

Incidentally, this is the only maple boarded bass I own.

Here's mines. I wired a Custom Shop 62 pickup on the Precision and add a cover.

A cover for my fretless too and I wired a push/pull pot, a blend and a simple 4 positions handmade varitone.

They now have both the tone I'm expecting from them.

I have a 5 string in that colour, and now a black pickguard has gone on my list of stuff that I somehow need to spend money on. Thanks for that.

You're welcome ;) It looks so much classier with that pickguard IMHO.

One of these has just popped up on ebay with a very tempting starting price, just wondering what your thoughts are on the general quality etc of this era (07/08) Mexican P's? Anything to look out for or avoid?

Cheers
