arthurhenry Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Caught a trailer for this on BBC4, but can find no info on the internet. Seems to be scheduled for Jan 2019. There are also programmes about drums and guitar. Here's a link to "On drums...Stewart Copeland!" https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2019/02/on-drums-stewart-copeland 6 Quote
bonzodog Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 I was trying to find a link for this too so I could post on here but couldn't find one. I saw the same trailer but BBC are not exactly going overboard in promoting it. Looks like a good series so will be watching all of them 2 Quote

TheGreek Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Just had a look (also "Series Record") - it's one of three - tonight's episode is about the importance of drums. Quote

thodrik Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I really enjoyed the show last night. I was fearing it would the usual BBC rock music documentary full of Keith Moon and John Bonham anecdotes, but I really enjoyed the look into the evolution of the drum kit and the coverage of drummers in the era before rock and roll. I love Stanton Moore as well so glad to see him on TV. My fear for the bass show is that it would be a bunch of stories about McCartney, Entwistle, Flea, Sid Vicious, Mark King and the guy from Royal Blood as the ‘new’ bass hero, with 20 seconds on Marcus Miller and Peter Hook. The drum show has convinced me that I don’t need to worry. Nice to see the BBC doing a music show with a bit of depth. 4 Quote

AndyTravis Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 (edited) Is Jools Holland doing the Piano one? “How to shoehorn boogie woogie into a Madness tune.” I’m being facetious... I’ve got this on series link, tried to watch the Stewart Copeland On Drums one, but littlest Trav has been really out of sorts and cried through most of it 😐 Edited January 13, 2019 by AndyTravis 2 Quote
