Only the Heritage stuff is made in the USA and the cost for them is about two grand. Still, that is a top of the line valve bass head for a grand. It is a great deal. If you want a made in USA VR you will have to look used, probably have to pay more and have no warranty.
bobbytodd
when I spoke to the online sales person he assured me it was a u.s head and I should really buy it straight away because u.s heads are rare and that one was a steal Edited January 1, 2019 by bobbytodd

Surprising from Guitar Guitar as their staff usually know their stuff. Sorry to hear that they gave you false information, I would be annoyed as well. W1_Pro
The picture that they have with the online ad is a US made device. So if they are advertising the amp as one thing and selling a device which is different, thats mis- selling surely?

I was told is was Usa, new old stock If I knew it was going to be Chinese I wouldn’t have gone for it...

thodrik
Quite a deal, even for a non-US. I'm surprised it hasn't gone!

woolf
I’m tempted as never owned a proper SVT - it’s just the phenomenal weight (38kg) that puts me off!
Beedster
You can pick up used USA SVTs for around £600, wait a while and these non-USA Ampeg’s will be very very cheap. The days of big tube heads are sadly behind us
la bam
is there really any difference where its made?
