Mickyk
And dropped off a Sire Marcus Miller v7 version 2 vintage jazz.So far i'm lovin it,really nice neck and some nice sounds coming out. The truss rod needed a tweek as the strings were sat a little high for my liking sorted that out so it's just about right for me. Can't understand sire not providing an instruction booklet of some sort, but it's all available online i suppose so no real set back. Here's me hoping this relationship will develop into some meaningful love affair, and i'm sure it will.

scalpy
The preamp on my ASAT has many options but is really easy to understand, this will be a bit more grown up. I’ve been after a 5 string that wouldn’t break the bank for pit work (I can look after my instruments but others can’t) and this came up in BD’s Facebook feed last night- just knew I had to pull the trigger immediately at the price.
scalpy
By the way, don’t mean to hijack your thread but it’s nice to know someone else is as excited about a V7 as I am!

Rest assured, it’s a lot simpler than it initially looks. It takes a bit of getting used to when you want to fine-tune sounds “in the heat of battle”, but once you familiarize yourself it’s really pretty OK.
Mickyk
Only thing i may change is the bridge, other than that it's fine.

scalpy
The singers in my band have decided because my Sire is cheap, shiny, orange and is going to get beaten it should be called Shazza.
mingsta
Congrats! I've had my Gen1 v7 vintage 5 for a couple of weeks now and very happy. It needs a setup, but I've got a gotoh replacement bridge on the way, so will sort it out after that's been fitted. That one in burnt orange looks awesome too. I have a P7 version 2 and the neck is really comfy. You should watch Marcus M`s YT clip he did at the Chicago music exchange (if I remember right) he explains the eq in particular the mids control which is the bit that had me a bit confused at first. Re the bridge. I kept the base plate but changed the barrel`s for Wilkinson brass ones and stuck on a set of Schaller tuners.
