It seems that the bouncers got him, but the muso chose not to press charges..........

not necessarily a good move that, this sort of stunt needs stopping, but I can see

that the singer might be frightened of repercussions........difficult.

Thankfully this sort of thing rarely happens on the punk/Oi scene, probably as the rest of the crowd would severely batter anyone stupid enough to do it.

If you read the article, it appears the singer took matters in his own hands, successfully, which is why he may have chosen to not press charges...

Well done him.

Ever played a Caravan Club rally? They're like Saigon during the Tet offensive, sh*t going off everywhere.

Never again.

I’ve had more than a few of these over the years I have to admit, from beer throwing idiots (ruining pedal boards), to 2 band members fighting on stage (I know), to someone groping my now wife/then girlfriend and me stage diving on top of him knocking him out..... ah, those were the days :)

Moral of the story, drink and drugs aren’t good for you.

Somebody groped my wife at a gig and SHE beat the crap out of them and threw them clean out of the front door. I know my place 😄

I can't help thinking there's more to this than meets the eye. The look on the assailant's face, that's real anger not just a drunk getting out of hand.

Well, 'Sweet Caroline' - ok, its not justified but it is understandable.

This illustrates another very good reason to use a P bass (see other extensive thread on the topic). They're simple, weighty, solidly made/hard to break and ideal for self-defence purposes 😉

Fight back, every time with stuff like this. Stupid/drunk punters, who think musicians are there for them to abuse, are often shocked that a band member will leave the stage and pursue them half way across town......

I have it on authority from mutual acquaintances that this was a fully unprovoked attack, and that the singer gave the offender a well deserved pasting.
