The reason why the Pralines “issues” couldn’t be sorted (a desire to have some LPFs in place of some of the BPFs) was due to its having a global resonance control and the fact that the circuit boards had already been manufactured. You may be aware that LPF and BPF respond differently to resonance. In fairness, Olivier did try out the suggestions and was very accommodating and gracious. In his new “Moutarde” he has made the filters all low pass and given them individual resonance controls. He’s actually now delivered the pedal that was asked for (though he was already working on it)! He has said he does want to move towards digital control (i.e. presets) but has acknowledged that it’s quite costly and that he has much to learn in that area. krispn Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Cheers Yeah I thought his Moutarde had 'more' tweakability you'd really wanna smash a synth with one for many great noises! Quote

Al Krow Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 I just looked at the price of the Moutarde, damn it's expensive!! Otherwise I'd be tempted to throw caution to the wind, put aside my hang ups about the thing taking up a ridiculous amount of pedal board real estate and its lack of presets and say "stuff it, let's support this guy on an endeavour that we bass synth lovers, love that he's doing!" Cuzzie Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 @Al Krow but that’s because of the known entity of its fly rig footprint, dUg’s sound, how dUg achieved his sound, and how the brilliant Tech21 dUg Ultrabass 1000 amp works. Plus it had been mooted for about 2 years and the prototype had been on tour and seen in the wild. That’ll be why Quote

Cuzzie Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 @Al Krow the MB was paraphrasing the other thread on their guitar release about their gear. Happy for you to knock any of the gear I own, it matters not to me. I don’t hear or see dUg trying to be or play like Entwistle. If you cant hear what the pedal is capable of, and how it can be used to fit into the mix of the band based on the video clips out there, then that’s your folly. Obviously those bass gear review magazines listing it within the top rated bass products of 2018 know stunningly little. If you think one of the greatest and influential rock bassists of our time is pants and sounds like poo, that’s cool too. Will Be nice though to hear more stuff on the C4 when it comes out to see if it does replace what you think it will replace on your board to help you out when gigging. Quote

With due respect, it doesn't to dUg King's-X-who Pinnick 10 minutes ago, Cuzzie said: If you cant hear what the pedal is capable of, and how it can be used to fit into the mix of the band based on the video clips out there, then that’s your folly. Btw - I'm absolutely not knocking the Tech21 dUg pedal - I've never owned and have to fess to not having any temptation at all to do so. I know you (and others) love it and that's a pretty big recommendation about that piece of gear. Edited January 16, 2019 by Al Krow Quote
