Easyish

this fellas code https://github.com/jacobroufa/midi_c4_preset

New mvave chocolate plus should also be able to do it in terms of switching from its usb host port - but maybe not the numeric display

Oo! For £30 on amazon it's worth a punt! So it should just plug into the C4 and work? Midi is so alien to me I'm scared I break something 😬

Make sure it’s the newer plus version with the usb host socket

I think it will be able to set I two buttons to  “increase preset” and “decrease preset” - what it might not do is keep count like the adafruit trinket project does

M Vave is ridiculously flexible and good esp for the price. Shame they’ve dropped the exp socket on the Plus though. This link refers to the old version but there’s a lot of good stuff in here which (I guess) probably still applies to the Plus: https://forum.mod.audio/t/midi-chocolate-controller-with-the-mod-dwarf-an-introduction/7003

I can see an exp input on the plus?!

Oh, my bad! There is indeed a “pedal” 1/4” jack. Recall seeing an internetting saying it had been removed. So, even better!

Should mean one can midi map ext control function on the C4 to a CC and then send that CC from the M Vave when the exp pedal is moved. Then whatever controllable parameter (frequency, EQ, vol etc) is configured for a given C4 preset can be controlled via exp. Killer feature. Control your favourite filter’s frequency from your foot!

I mean - being source audio you could also just plug an expression pedal into the mini Jack at the top and do that for up to three parameters anyway… :D

Okay so my Mvave chocolate plus came - and as is usually the case, there are issues (with my C4, I think) 🤦‍♂️

When it's set in PC mode, it goes through the presets brilliantly, with 0-3 corresponding to 1-4 on the pedal etc...

Issue is, for some reason number 4 and a couple of other random numbers seem to bypass the pedal when they switch the preset. The controller DOESNT do this to my ultrawave though and pocket midi also does the same thing to the C4 from my PC. Any ideas anyone? 😫

I've tried factory resetting the C4, and uinstalled and reinstalled neuro 3 too...
