JapanAxe Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Can any Dingwall owner or expert tell me what that 'thing' is on the back of this Afterburner bass, between the control cavity cover and the rear strap button. Just curious... Quote
fretmeister Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Strap lock hole for Dunlop strap systems. Quote
Paulhauser Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 IIRC that is to be used as an alternative rear strap placement for Dunlop system. Quote
NJE Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I’m sure I read somewhere that it was there as an alternative position to sit the bass more to the right when playing so that the first few frets felt closer and less of a stretch. Obviously they couldn’t put a regular strap button there, so it seems quite sensible. 2 Quote

JapanAxe Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Not sure that will work with a Grolsch washer... Quote
Satrugar Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Two of my Dingwalls are outfitted with this additional strap button. I like it and only use those instead of the normal ones. The difference isn't huge, but noticeable and makes reaching the lower notes with my short arms just a bit more comfortable. So it's a useful feature in my eyes, at least for me. Quote
JapanAxe Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 (edited) I've got arms like a gibbon's, so no problem there. Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon... Edited January 19, 2019 by JapanAxe 1 Quote
