JapanAxe
Can any Dingwall owner or expert tell me what that 'thing' is on the back of this Afterburner bass, between the control cavity cover and the rear strap button. Just curious...
fretmeister
Strap lock hole for Dunlop strap systems.
Paulhauser
IIRC that is to be used as an alternative rear strap placement for Dunlop system.

NJE
I’m sure I read somewhere that it was there as an alternative position to sit the bass more to the right when playing so that the first few frets felt closer and less of a stretch. Obviously they couldn’t put a regular strap button there, so it seems quite sensible.

JapanAxe
Not sure that will work with a Grolsch washer...
Satrugar
Two of my Dingwalls are outfitted with this additional strap button. I like it and only use those instead of the normal ones. The difference isn't huge, but noticeable and makes reaching the lower notes with my short arms just a bit more comfortable. So it's a useful feature in my eyes, at least for me. JapanAxe
I've got arms like a gibbon's, so no problem there. Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon... Edited January 19, 2019 by JapanAxe
