ianrendall
Is there such a thing? I’ve recently replaced the 0.1uf cap in my P bass for a 0.47uf cap. While I do like the sound of the new cap, I also like the sound of the old one. Does a knob exist with both a tone control and a selector? Perhaps a push-pull? I know I could put in a multi-way switch but I don’t want to drill any holes in the scratchplate.
BassBunny
You can certainly get a pot with a push/pull switch.

Useful article and diagram too. https://www.fralinpickups.com/2017/11/08/november-mod-month-2-tone-caps-1-push-pull-pot/ Edited January 22, 2019 by ianrendall
BassBunny
AxesrUs do 2 versions that would fit the bill. https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Medium-Shaft-PushPush-Alpha-Pots-p/medpushpushalpha.htm https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Medium-Shaft-PushPull-Alpha-Pots-p/medpushpullalpha.htm

Yes I have found a number of sources but I do have two concerns. 1. The pots on my P are of the solid shaft variety held in place with a grub screw. I cannot find any push pulls with a solid shaft. 2. Is the control cavity deep enough to accept the depth of the push pull pot. I’d have to get my screwdriver out for that one I guess. BassBunny
1, shouldn't be an issue. You can use the same control knob. Just ensure the grub screw is lined up with the split in the shaft. 2, yep, that could be a problem.
