anzoid Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 This was not what I was expecting: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163501094450 Interesting design decisions... From the Description: "Headless Precision Bass Guitar. Colour: Brown. Full working order. Any questions, let me know." My question: "Why?" Quote
anzoid Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 Good grief, there's a Jazz version too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Headless-Jazz-Bass-Guitar/163501116718 Quote
Paul S Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Those two basses must be the most pointless custom jobs I have ever seen. What on earth was he thinking? Quote
Bassassin Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Slipped through a wormhole from a parallel universe where perfectly good & inexpensive headless hardware does not exist. Baffling. 1 Quote

BreadBin Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Never mind those - check out the Kramer he is selling! It's actually factory, believe it or not. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163501156692 Quote

Baffling. Came here to post that, you can pick the headless kits up for barely any money and do a much less time consuming and far more elegant job than that. The end result would probably be one which would sell quite easily too. For some reason I quite like that wonky looking Kramer though. Quote
fleabag Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 That Kramer looks ace. Those other 2 are the love children of Beelzebub. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Easily removed with Sinex. or is it Optrex ? Quote
yorks5stringer Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 About £200 more than they're worth, mainly due to the awful relicing... Quote
edstraker123 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Maybe they were trying to list it as hideous precision bass but autocorrect took over. 1 Quote

Paul S Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I suppose if he was including a hard case I might be interested, just to see how the heck he managed to get one to fit! Quote

Looking at his previous attempts at modification I'm guessing it involved a perfectly good bass case, a saw and a case of Special Brew. 2 Quote
totorbass Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 How does it stand? Is a big plant pot needed onstage? 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 The annoying thing is the primary school paint brown with the woodgrain scratchplate and a floral motif actually looks alright to me, a bit of a geography teacher's bass but it looks "together" and cohesive. Like he actually had a design goal and put some thought into what he wanted it to look like. Then he dropped a couple of tabs and set about it with with an angle grinder. Quote
