DR250 £100 Empty Tuba24 £20 Local pick-up only in Northants pleasr only.
Both ungigged. Built for a DIY cab project, I already have a tall narrow cab which I use for jammin with mates as its easy to tip in the car.
DR has a new Emminence Beta 10 250w at 8ohm fitted.
Both under 18 months old.
Tuba 24 is empty, made of MDF/ply and needs a beta 10 fitting and a out jack. These are £40 roughly.
DR is made from ply and fitted with speaker clamps and has plastic corners fitted now.
Both are hand painted matt black.
No thrills, could be carpet covered or look ok as they are.
Tuba is 24" x 24" DR 22" x 20". (50ibs)
The Tuba has been tested with a speaker and they both sound like a very good 12" speaker I would say but with more output.
These two cabs are built/tuned for bass/keyboard and not PA.

Do you mean 1 or 2 tweeters on the front like some bass/keyboard cabs have. Or do you mean a array like on the BFM web site so it can be used for P.A.
The first method would be easy because you could just drill the hole in the flat front and wire from the speaker. The second method would be tricky but not impossible.

You could stick as many as you want in the flat front section. In fact thats what the designer suggests if using these cabs for p.a in a array for the top cab only.
Mind you he also says tweeters are not much cop for bass guitar. He has forgotten more about cabs than most people know so I always go with what Bill says.

I can't put any photos on here I am afraid because I hate computers and cannot be bothered to learn, sorry. Lifes too short and computers will never catch on. Good old Fella that Finnbass is on Finnbass he put my pics up for me from myspace.

My hero Musky. I normally get my teenagers to sort my computer but they only grunt nowadays and I don't do grunting. My learned lazyness on the PC is addictive. Thanks .

I don't really know how they sound compeared to a Omni but personally I think the Tuba sounds like a 15 and the DR like a very good 1x12 but with much more output.
Have you looked on the BFM site? The forum has some reviews. Hardly anyone builds the DR's for bass guitar in the UK as they are quite complex. The Omni is the most popular build and has less output but is easy to build and you can use any 10" speakers if you wish. The DR and Tuba needs certain speakers fitted ideally although one person mentioned they had put a old Pioneer in the Tuba24 and it sounded good. Its not difficult to sound better than most commercial cabs anyway. Cheers.
Thanks! Quite a fearsome bit of kit. How similar does it sound to the Omni cabs I tried at the bash? I was impressed with them...

The DR range are far better sounding cabs than the Omni's 10's from my experience, having said that, I built DR280's, slightly bigger and a little more btm end. Big cabs though.

The DR's are very efficient, possibly a little shy on the btm end with one DR250, but the clarity is fantastic, especially once you add the piezo back into the equation :)
