NickD
So 2 Fridays ago Stewart Copeland did his drum thing on the telly, obviously there was a heads-up thread earlier that week. Last Friday Tina Weymouth did the Bass episode... Naturally there was a thread. Guitars tonight... Nothing! 🤣 *edit* Until now I guess. jezzaboy
Guitar you say? Never heard of them....
Maude
There was always going to be a guitar thread but nobody was quite sure when it would start. I mean, we all knew when it should start but it doesn't appear to have materialised. Have you checked the other forums? Maybe it was started in completely the wrong section and it's thrown you. Once it does start it will probably go on forever, contain bizarre word choices and drive you completely nuts.

Bilbo
They are like basses but tuned an octave higher to make them easier to play. 2

But they look weird - strange little stumpy things! (Sshhh! I really enjoyed the guitar program last night, but don't tell the others!)
SH73
The guitar programme was better than bass IMHO.
Norris
Confession: I fell asleep in the drum one, watched the bass one avidly, forgot about the guitar one
Newfoundfreedom
Guitars? Seems like a pretty obscure premise for a whole TV episode. I mean. How many people actually play one? I had to Google it to even find out what they were. Apparently they're kind of like a mini six sting bass with a built in octaver. That'll never catch on. (Damn! Just seen @Bilbo beat me to it. You snooze you lose) Edited January 26, 2019 by Newfoundfreedom
naxos10
I think all three were extremely interesting and thought that the conclusion of the guitar one was excellent i.e. guitarists have gone back to where it all started with Lse Paul and his wife and multi tape recorders etc😂.
mikel
It was another program about music, whats not to like?
NickD
I enjoyed it. Not the usual suspects, and not the approach I'd expected.

Newfoundfreedom
I've just watched the guitar episode and the bass episode. Very entertaining. Although having watched the bass episode I'm kind of worried. I quote "bass players are no longer just the fat bloke standing at the back" That's me buggered then! That's my whole act.
YeastieB
I like that each program has a slightly different viewpoint suggesting that the presenter had real input: Stewart Copeland's excitement in playing with other drummers; Tina Weymouth’s bass is a frequency (could have a title for a Talking Heads or Laurie Anderson song); and Lenny Kaye’s quest for new sounds with a poetic loop at the end.
