Anyone Help with colour of this P Bass

I for the life of me cannot work out what colour this is. Cant really remember the year but think it was a 72....I am leaning towards a solid wine red  any experts out there help me out?

Looks a similar colour to Nate Mendel of Foo Fighters early 70s Precision, which is Candy Apple Red.

I seem to remember it being more burgundy than red though.

The top bass looks almost like the Mocha colour P they did some time back

Wine Red was a Fender colour in the 70s. It's probably that. Here's a Strat:

It could be candy cola red which is a bit darker than the candy apple 🙂

It wasnt metallic. I think the cola was. The strat looks like the colour but mine was not translucent.

It 'feels' like a refinish to me, and the pickguard has been changed too, so quite possibly done at the same time.

Defo not a refinish, the pickguard got me a B in gcse metalwork!😁

I guess that as it’s an old photo it may have changed the true appearance of the colour? 

I’d have said Dakota Red (but I am slightly colour blind!), though they stopped using it in 69, it wouldn’t be unheard of CBS to of found an old body and reused it in 72 (if it was new in 72?)

Or if it’s a brown shade, it would be Walnut, which was sometimes called Mocha - see photo
