gary mac Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 There I was sitting about feeling a bit glum this morning, when I decided to have a search throught the dustier end of our CD cupboard. I dusted down Fragile by Yes and put it on. Within a few minutes I had to grab the bass and attempt to play along. I was ok with some of it, but some of it, omg, fingers in knots and my head all mushy Heart of the Sunrise and Long Distance Runaround in particular. So, like I said: inspired or depressed? I don't know. Back to Mustang Sally tonight Quote
4000 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 No, nooooo, not Mustang Sally....... I once swore if I ever heard that song again I'd top myself so I'm really trying very hard to avoid it.... Quote
skankdelvar Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Being OK with any of it would be cause for celebration round my house. Feel inspired. Quote
Golchen Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Ahhhhhh .............. one of those magical albums that unravelled the whole world of music before my very eyes (ears!) after a childhood of top 40 fodder! I love the rickenbacker bass sound (heh! I assume it was one!) Quote
Delberthot Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 South Side of the Sky is one of my favourites on that album. Possibly one of the easiest to grasp as well. Don't know how many times I've listened to that album. Must be in the hundreds anyway. I used to listen to at last a good bit of it every day for a while Quote
Stingray5 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 'Fragile' is a brilliant album, along with 'The Yes Album' and 'Close To The Edge'. All huge influences for me at the time and still played regularly. Quote
