Grantd Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I have been off-loading some basses recently as I plan to move house but as part of this consolidation plan, I have a acquired a new gem from ACG. It's a new scale length that Alan's been working on and I think it just suits me perfectly and the sound is amazing from such a short scale - 26.5". Is this new start of a new wave of short scale basses? 3 Quote
ead Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Loving those micro Krells. I hope you enjoy the bass. Quote

It is indeed, I had a little go on the prototype last time I was up in Moffat. I did completely wimp out though and ended up with the 32" scale Border Reiver that Alan was selling. Grantd Posted February 9, 2019 Author Posted February 9, 2019 Actually when I'm done, all I will have are two 32" basses that Alan's made me and this new one. I'm beginning to think that 32" is the new 34" (particularly Alan's basses) and this 26.5" is my new 30". Quote
ead Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I'm very much enjoying 32" BR to the point I may have comissioned another 32" P type bass that is close to being ready. Obvioulsy tour rules apply so telling Mrs ead please 1 Quote
James Nada Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I've always been intrigued by the possibility of a "guitar" scale length bass. What guage strings are on that? Quote

Merton Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Just seen your avatar @Grantd - is that this rather scrummy Finn I see? https://www.instagram.com/p/BqozLUJnzSh/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=4lgpcsxtqa4b Quote

The nylon wounds strings are amazing and it feels awesome. Love Finns. 1 Quote

I have a double cut Finn 4, 32” scale which is basically the same woods. And I may have possibly commissioned a 5 string sister for her... 😇 Quote

ead Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Oooh I'm not sure, possibly but I'm rubbish at socail media so AC just sends me pics by MS Messenger. Don't want to derail the OPs thread too much so I'll PM you a pic or two 1 Quote
