I see the full reunion documentary is on YT, and without adverts. Enjoyed that. 👍

Thanks for that, really enjoyed it.  As much as I think he shows his silly show off side/arrogance for sitting cross legged like that and posing with a lute, I can't deny he is a fantastic bass player and singer, especially as he can do them both together so well..

I have to admit I have also often pulled those facial expressions when a drummer who loves the sound of his own voice keeps piping up with unnecessary and irrelevant opinions in every break in rehearsal....I feel his pain....

I beg your pardon, drummers never have unnecessary or irrelevant opinions, and certainly not when a member of a three piece.

You obviously haven't met the last drummer I played with then.....

My post was partly tongue in cheek, but one member of a three piece has to have input regarding the bands music.

Starting to get a bit 1970’s maybe Sting, Andy and Stewart could live together and sleep in the same bed like Eric and Ernie?

Ooo, you've reminded me about THIS!

Also, while we're talking about Sting and his lies about being in the police, I bet the fooker's never been to the moon either.

effing hilarious

well done - made my day

Surely you cannot be criticising Stewie?  He kept Sting honest and in-line.  When our Copeland-equivalent director left his Sting-equivalent director ran riot and effectively bankrupted the company.

Strong minds need a counterpoint.

Bands or business partnerships, I suppose they're similar relationships...

The police seemed (from what I've seen / read, interviews etc), to be in the schoolmates / brothers -- "Brutal" sub category.

Rather similar to the oasis brothers in some ways.

Hello, police.

Hi, I'm calling to report a stolen van.

I see, is it your van, Sir?

Yes.

And your name is?

Sting.

I see - Sting.

Yes.

Would that be your first name or last name, Sir?

Err... well both I suppose.

So it's "Sting Sting"...

Well, yes, if you like.

It's not what I like Sir, I just need your name.

Okay.

Computer won't accept that Sir.

Oh dear.

Its saying the forename(s) must differ from the surname.

Bummer.

So, Sting Bummer

No! My surname’s Sumner

Oh, Bummer Sumner then

etc, ad nauseam.

According to:

Sting also uses: http://www.uberproaudio.com/who-plays-what/66-stings-bass-gear-rig-and-equipment

Sting uses '55 and '57 Fender Precision basses, Ampeg SVT-4Pro and 8 x 10 cabinets, and

- DR Hi-Beam strings 40 - 100 gauge

- Shure U1-UA wireless UHF transmitters

- switching/muting system

- Alembic F1-X preamp

- Court Acoustics GE60 i-octave equalizer

- Urei 7110 compressor/limiter

- Electro-Voice XEQ-3 crossover

- Furman power conditioners (to protect all of the gear from power surges)

So actually quite a clean signal!

Nice!

I think it's about time Fender (and Squier), reissued the reissue of those MK1 P basses. 👍

Seems there are very few about.

There was one Squier on fleabay this week (now sold), Buy in Now for £260. (I should have bought it first).

And I can't see any of the cheap faker-makers copying that model...?

I rather like the Tele' style headstock...

Really? That's the bit I really don't like. I've just never liked a Tele headstock - not even on a tele.

Just my opinion of course - and we all know how little that counts for!

Lordy, that's beauty right there.  I used to dislike the headstock but when you realise it has less mass than the later headstock I began to appreciate it more and now I like it!  Less neck dive etc.
