paul_5 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I’ve always loved playing Jazz basses but recently I’ve had a hankering for some Stingray vibes from my fretless. I present to you Exhibit A Quote
songofthewind Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 Interesting! How does it sound? Quote
CameronJ Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I’m very intrigued to know how you have that wired! Quote
bigsmokebass Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I wouldn't have thought you'd have got much of a 'musicman' sound from that Wilkinson pickup... I'm intrigued to find out how this sounds. Quote

The first two knobs are unaltered; standard volume controls for the J pups. The knob that was for the master tone is now the volume for the MM pup. The small switch is an on/on/on for 1st (bridge) coil, both coils in parallel (MM sound) and 2nd (bridge) coil, giving 12 different configurations. Quote
CameronJ Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Ah, thanks for clarifying. So there’s now no tone shaping control? Quote
TheGreek Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 You should have bought a SimS!!! You get the choice of J/ P/ H with 15 variations - designed and all the bugs ironed out by trusted pros. Quote

acidbass Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Are the pickups out of line with the strings? The pole pieces look off. Quote
