Kebabkid Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Yep, Pete Thorn is an LA session GUITARIST but what he says applies to any musician and the man talks sense and is well-respected Worth a listen and I was lucky to meet him last year at a Guitar Guitar evening and apart from being a great player, he's sound on so many levels. http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/150097/being-a-pro-musician-pete-thorn 2 Quote
peteb Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Good video, should be compulsory viewing for people who complain that they can't find bands. It's not rocket science really - be a good player, play with as many good musicians as you can, get on with people and don't act like a d1ck, make contacts and network... 1 Quote
skidder652003 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Great advice, luckily most bass players I know don't possess the same attitude as a lot of guitar players/singers Quote
peteb Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 PT has just released his follow up video in this series. Another great video, even a lot of this is pretty much just common sense to me, but it seems that it might not be to a lot of people (including plenty on BC) Quote
chris_b Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Video #1. . . 15 mins of common sense. Specifically about the music business but most points would be reverent to success in many other jobs and careers. Quote
