Deanol
Hi, I am trying out the Overloud TH-U amp sim and it's very good. I think I will probably buy it. But it comes with a cabinte that is an impulse response loader rather than one of the standard cabs, which is nice, but I don't know much about IRs, other than they represent a speaker in a cabinet, microphone, room, mic preamps etc. I get them and I want to start playing with them. But I am confused why there is space (in the TH-U IR loader) for two IRs. I don't get why you need two (or more in some third-party loaders I have read about) spaces. Can anyone explain it please? Thanks, Dean.
Mcgiver69
It means more options, imagine a guitar player having not only one 4x12 but two. Same as a bassplayer having a 1x15 plus a 2x10 connected to an amp. You can always use one if you want to. As for impulse responses I recommend Lancaster Audio, their impulses are very cheap and made by professionals.
Rubbersoul
I have a loader with 6 slots, each with a different IR in it. You can blend as many as you like or audition different ones very quickly in the context of the mix. Options, you can never have too many lol 🤯🤯
lowdown
Although they have been around for a while, Sample City have an excellent bunch of Bricasti M7 Reverb IR's (all free). http://www.samplicity.com/bricasti-m7-impulse-responses/
lowdown
If you after a free IP loader, maybe try this below. It comes with 70 vintage Impulse Responses. And of course, you can load your own IR's. https://impulserecord.com/project/convology-xt-plugin/
