HarleyQuinn
Hi there, I just started playing and I picked up a second-hand RBX 374. Out of its four knobs, only volume and pan (I think) work, while bass and treble are kaput. Now that I'm just learning I don't really mind, but I was wondering if it's a good enough bass that is worth fixing, or if I should just leave it for now and upgrade when my playing imporves enough to justify a new instrument? Thanks in advance!
BassBunny
It's am active bass isn't it? If so battery could need replacing.
HarleyQuinn
Hi BassBunny, Yep, active - the battery is not the issue though, something wrong with the wiring, as other than the two knobs that don't work, everything else sounds fine. Thanks
AndyTravis
Hiya @HarleyQuinn when these first came to market, there was an issue where the battery drained instantly. An entire batch had the jack plugs with the wires in the wrong place. This doesn’t sound like the issue tbh might be worth a trip to a luthier and see if a wire has come off the preamp? hope you get it sorted - very decent basses.
