Where to play in the North of England?

Hey guys & gals,

Looking for some help! I'm going to be doing a mini tour of the North East in August, as it stands we only have 1 date, Monday 26th August to fill. We're looking at Newcastle & surrounds as after the show we'll be driving back to Glasgow.

On the Sunday we're (TBC) playing Sheffield. We're a noisey grunge 4-piece and on the road to promote our new single 'Smells like Lynx Africa', mastered by Charlie Francis (REM, Future of the Left, Victorian English Gentlemens Club, the Noisettes) - here's a preview here: Closet Organ - Smells like Lynx Africa

Would love to hear any feedback from you guys regarding appropriate venues and if any local bands have a support slot available we'd love a go at it and of course, would return the favour North of the border if you're ever in our neck of the woods!

Listening to your kind of music, I'd suggest The Cluny, Wylam Brewery (the brewery proper is in Wylam, the venue is Newcastle City Centre) or The Head of Steam. They host that kind of music and are 'proper' venues as opposed to 'pubs that have bands'.

Slightly more left field, but By The River Brew Co will occasionally take bands, especially to brighten up a dull Monday evening. The same for The Stack.
