edstraker123 Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 On my doorstep - what is it and what's it worth ? ( i did ask the seller what model number but got np response) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-BASS-GUITAR/183679706090?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D56112%26meid%3D2facaeef49364c4c9f9bc966bf79adbf%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D264196639646%26itm%3D183679706090&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A6a093773-341f-11e9-b976-74dbd180e40a|parentrq%3A04d8d83f1690aa13221faa47ffe18306|iid%3A1 Quote
AndyTravis Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Think it’s called an attitude standard. it’s a p bass/bb200 in the shape of a Billy Sheehan model. It’s pretty lovely in so many ways - I was watching it, but a certain 1024x has stated I’m not to own any more basses. An old band of mine a regular support act for mini tours of the south who’s bass player had one. A well made P Bass with a twist. Quote
pete.young Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Yamaha Attitude Plus M, but not the Billy Sheehan version. Not sure about the value - £100 - £150? Quote
edstraker123 Posted February 19, 2019 Author Posted February 19, 2019 Cheers guys. i shall keep an eye on it. Quote
TheGreek Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 18 bids already - not exactly flying under the RADAR - expect lots of last minute interest. Quote
Ricky 4000 Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 (edited) Looks like one that could get bumped up by those who don't read the description. i.e. they'll take it as courier delivery / any kind of payment they like / includes the amp. Seller's done himself no favors in that regard. Either he's plain stupid, or he's stupid and thinks he's being clever. Edited February 19, 2019 by Ricky 4000 Quote
karlfer Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I'm in on this one, superb basses as all this family of Yams are. My max bid is set at £167 cos I want some spare to put a mudbucker at the neck. I don't need it, you know what you need to beat me. I WON'T be going any higher. Quote
fleabag Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Has he changed the description ? THIS LISTING IS FOR THE GUITAR ONLY. THE AMPLIFIER IS UNDR A SEPERATE LISTING. BOUGHT ABOUT FIFTEEN YEARS AGO IT HAS ONLY BEEN USED IN MY RECORDING STUDIO. Quote

pete.young Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Sorry, that should have said "above it's weight". I'd have been tempted myself, but I already have a BB800 and need to be downsizing the collection. Quote

karlfer Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 (edited) WTF did I put a daft bid on a bass when I'm trying to get down to 4. OK, so drove to pick it up, had a bit of time with it. BAD BITS. 2 of the clover leaf parts of the tuners rattle. Bit of Araldite should stop that. Reluctant to change as they have that torque bar that you can change tuner tension with hex key. Tone rotary seems to do nowt, so that'll either be a Ki0Gon loom or a trip to Richie Tomson to put a new pot in. Bit of neck dive (4" strap fettles that). EDIT. Strings are crap. IF I decide to keep it. GOOD BITS. The current one tone is FABULOUS, lovely thump with just a touch of bite. The generic Yam pups they used on this range were superb imo. Superb neck, 40mm nut, think maple board on a Nate Mendel. Looks great without scratchplate. Truss rod, bridge etc very good. Plays brilliant! Well built enough to use as an emergency hammer. So, bearing in mind I'm moving in a few months & REALLY need to cut gear down, do I move it on or, SPEND £60 ON WILKINSON BLACK BRIDGE, TUNERS & STRING TREE Edited February 24, 2019 by karlfer Quote
