tangotonyb
Hi, I've inherited an Epiphone Bass Guitar that I'm trying to identify. Looked up what I thought was the serial number 0158101 on www.guitardaterproject.org, but it says unknown. Can anyone help me out with any info? Thanks in advance! John Cribbin
I'd guess one of the ET range.
Low End Bee
Looks like a 70s ET280 to me £200-£300 Possibly?
Rikki_Sixx
Whatever it is, it looks very cool! I've never seen one of these before.
BreadBin
There's one of those nailed to the wall in a local pub!
Bassassin
@Low End Bee's right, it's an ET-280. These were made by Matsumoku in the early/mid 70s, & the same basses turn up with a 4-a-side headstock, branded as Aria. Reasonably good-quality & fairly collectable, serial numbers appear to be random - and Guitar Dater inevitably gets vintage MIJ stuff wrong, anyway! http://matsumoku.org/models/epiphone/catalogs/1974/pg5.html
Jono Bolton
As said, it's an ET-280. I always liked these, I think they look pretty cool.
Bassassin
Got to say, having looked at the big pics - that looks very tidy for its age. Don't think I've seen a cleaner one.
