Chrisbassboy5
Hi folks, just spotted the above as immaculate in a local music shop. Really as new! I was looking for a SR505 but surely a better deal!? Any thoughts on bass deal, model and price for my first IB.. Thanks guys.. jezzaboy
I had the 4 string version and it was really nice. Norstrand designed pickups, active/passive switching, 3 band eq. Whats not to like if you are looking for an Ibby? Make sure you like it as if you don`t and try to move it on, Ibanez basses usually take a hit if selling on. Wrongly in my opinion. But I would buy this rather than a 505. Good luck!

Chrisbassboy5
Just checked with the shop Old strings won't be replaced for free and no case, still a great deal? However free servicing for life.. Please advise.. Thanks Chris
jezzaboy
You mentioned the 505. You can get a brand new one for £529 from GG. But if the 755, which is no longer a current model in this finish, is in really good condition, I would go for the 755. Better pickups imo and the wood finish on it is a lot better than the 505. The SR500 I owned had a very bland finish. If I remember right, I payed £720 ish for the 4 string model a couple of years ago so the price seems ok for a as new model from a shop. But at the end of the day Chris only you can decide which one is right for you.
SpondonBassed
You may prefer the PJ pick up configuration of the 755 better than the HH of the 505. If you have the opportunity, try to get a play on the two types to help you decide.

Chrisbassboy5
Yep. For a sale they won't replace £25 strings when spending £525.. god, margins must be tight! Chris
