Esh various or hold out for a Warwick $$ ?

Greetings.

Both bass's seem to have loads of tonal options, and since I'm due a new bass( it's not a crime to be good to yourself) was wondering what experience people have had ?

I'm looking at the 5 string versions.

Any info would be great.

I presume you mean the Corvette.?I had a Warwick $$ Corvette 5 string in black with the grain showing. The sound was HUGE.! and in a very good way.  Bass ball bat neck but you get used to it.. Hold out for one. From what I know the Esh has a single EMG MM pup, or is it the 2 x EMG pickup your looking at. The Warwick has way more switchable tonal options if the Esh has the single MM.

 

This is the bass I had. Without the Just a nut bridge I may add. So I believe was an early Corvette.

Have you considered the Spector Euro range? IMO as good as, if not better, than the Warwick range. 

There is a thread here somewhere discussing the pros and cons of each.

Thanks troops. So far I've seen 2 Esh models (one with dual K.Armstrong SB's and the other had a set of EMG j PU's) , I am leaning more towards the Warwick. I have a Spector Euro, wonder piece of kit. Got a gap where I can squeeze another bass in.

I bought a cosmetically challenged Warwick $$ for peanuts to have a go at 5 stringing. It has a sound like nothing else. A real depth to it. Fast becoming my go to (over a ‘88 stingray and ‘16 jazz). You won’t regret it!
