Used to do the No Doubt version, great bass line!

Not too hard but it just shows that you don't have to throw tons of notes in for a bassline to be just sublime!

Absolutely, it drives the song along nicely, in both versions!

One Way Street - Nine Below Zero

Runaway Baby - Bruno Mars

Back in the USSR - Beatles

...always give me a smile when I see they are next on the setlist. And some I love playing in isolation but can be cramp-inducing: Treat Her Right at battle speed, and What'd I Say (Ray Charles).

Runaway Baby is surprisingly fun, I agree! Particularly when you're jousting with the guitarist for exactly the same bit of sonic territory - I got mine cracking up by trying to play the bass line an octave above him but found I'd run out of dusty-end fret board 😂

Not one I've played recently live but I always loved playing this one.

Can't find any footage of Paul Jeffreys actually playing it as the whole band left about the time this was released - all performances seem to be session musicians. Sadly he died in the Lockerbie disaster.

Master Blaster Jammin is another bassline that I absolutely love to play along with. Again, not too challenging but a great bassline nevertheless!

Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the people has a great groove 🙂

Good call. We got asked to play it for a wedding last year. Stayed in the set ever since!
